To extend the life of your Birkenstock or other cork based shoe/sandal we recommend the following things take place.
• Avoid extreme heat as cork tends to curl or soles may shrink.
• Keep an eye on the areas where cork is exposed such as a heel or toe. When the existing seal wears thin, reapplying a cork sealant such as Birkenstock's cork life will help them look nicer and last longer.
• Have repair work done on the shoes before you wear them through the soles and into the cork.
• Pre-treat the uppers with a leather protector like Birkenstock's leather protectant to keep spills on the surface. Several mistings are recommended verses a single saturation. |
